EMPLOYER
As a solo consultant in partnership with

Solo consultant as a product- and service designer working mostly with startups and large financial companies.

Client

LogMeIn is a Boston based company providing cloud-based productivity services ($1 billion in revenue, 2017).

Challenge

In 2017 they introduced a bottom-up innovation program, to find their next $1 billion product.

People

Co-designed and co-facilitated with Judit Boros.

Process

Together with LogMeIn’s Chief Innovation Officer we designed a series of workshops to get the program up to speed. At the events participants worked themselves through new social / behavioral / technology and business trends to produce new product concepts.

Results

LogMeIn selected several of the concepts and allocated resources to develop them into products.

Personal contribution

Value I brought to the project:

  • It was my project from developing the lead, through involving a partner, scoping the project with LogMeIn’s Santa Barbara based innovation unit, to the delivery of workshops
  • One of my non-profit workshops, with LogMeIn’s Director of Innovation participating, sparked the idea of this workshops series
  • Experience in innovation processes and tools
  • My perspective on tech- and social trends
  • Workshop design and facilitation skills
Personal takeaways

Personally I was most rewarded by how participants got enthusiastic about how the tools we introduced (liek the Lean Canvas) helped them to communicate their ideas better.

How I did in this project?

Francis was an integral part of the Service design and Innovation team at Isobar Budapest, where we have worked together, and he was my favorite neighbor at our desk. He has deep understanding of both service an UX design, with great personal skills for bringing the user-centered perspective to the decision makers' table. He is eager to share his knowledge and keen on learning from others. He has a bright, open and balanced personality that has always put an ease on our work even when we were under pressure. I think every work place needs a colleague like him.
